Born and raised in Hong Kong, my journey began with a Bachelor of Social Work from Hong Kong Baptist University and meaningful early work in a school for children with cerebral palsy. After moving to the United States, I pursued my Master’s in Family Studies and a Doctorate in Counselor Education at Virginia Tech. Armed with this training and a heart full of faith, I spent 25 years homeschooling my own children — a journey that deeply informed my understanding of the daily joys and challenges of family life. Today, I consider myself a “native” Virginian, having lived in the Commonwealth longer than I did in Hong Kong.

In addition to the everyday realities of raising a family, I serve alongside my husband, who is an elder at the Blacksburg Chinese Church, where I host house groups, lead worship, and conduct women’s Bible studies. This service reflects my commitment to the Ministry of Reconciliation, which is the heartbeat of my work at Bonding Hearts Coaching.

The "empty nest" season brought a providential shift when I joined Connected Families as a certified parent coach and speaker,. This role reshaped my career trajectory, allowing me to walk alongside others to build wisdom and transform relationships from "chaos" to "calm".

Blessed with deep connections to my husband, three grown children, and seven grandchildren, I am driven by a calling to bridge the emotional chasms that can grow between parents and children,,. I carry a special passion for Asian families, helping them navigate deep-rooted cultural patterns of shame and honor so that the message of love is heard clearly and without distortion. My mission is to help every family experience the freedom of grace and the strength of authentic, healthy bonds.
